Welcome to this truly momentous occasion! You, dear friend, are reading The Very First Blog Entry for The Merasi School. In an effort to differentiate ourselves from the 13 million other blogs chattering away about community-based education for social change with a population of lower caste musicians in the desert of northwestern India, we have decided to brand ourselves as The Premiere Blog for Those Innovative Folks Interested in the Stories, Anecdotes, Cliffhangers, and Narratives from The Merasi School. (And what luck! It comes complete with the catchy acronym, PBTIFISACNTMS! Rest assured, bumper stickers are already in the works.) We are committed to being your Number 1 source for any and all information for PBTIFISACNTMS. There's a lot of competition out there, but we are confident that with our good lucks and charm, we can distinguish ourselves in the field.
I, Caitie Whelan, am headed off to the sands of Rajasthan, India from 12/30-2/15 to embark on a host of new undertakings, including implementing our brand new Merasi School Book, a textbook written specifically for The Merasi School, grow our existing projects, and still make time to develop enormous callouses. I cannot tell you how excited, inspired and proud I am to have the opportunity to read and follow what will truly be a life changing experience for so many community members in and outside of the Merasi School and of course, you! Prayers are with you always. Amazing.

I know that you left for Rajasthan today, and therefore, starting now, I will be checking back regularly (hourly, at least) for updates to the PBTIFISACNTMS during your trip.
